As the company looks to expand its air and sea freight business, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to join our team.
Job Purpose
- The primary responsibility of the Business Development Executive will be to identify and develop new business opportunities, with a focus on growing the company’s air and sea freight service offerings. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a proven track record of successful new business generation in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and target new clients in both the air and sea freight sectors
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their logistics needs and proposing tailored solutions
- Proactively research the market, monitor industry trends, and identify new business opportunities
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to prospective clients
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the seamless delivery of services and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline, and performance metrics
- Contribute to the overall growth and strategic direction of the company
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a business development or sales role within the freight forwarding and logistics industry
- Excellent understanding of the air and sea freight forwarding market, including industry trends, competitors, and customer requirements
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to convert leads into new business
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in the use of CRM systems and data analysis tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a results-oriented mindset
- Relevant industry qualifications or certifications (e.g., FIATA, IATA) would be an advantage
